Carol Erdman Martin

December 19, 1947 - February 10, 2006

Carol was born in Baltimore, MD to Wallace B. and Vernell (Pollard) Erdman Jr. She moved to Central Florida in 1957 from Baltimore. She worked as a bookkeeper in the construction industry. Carol was a member of St. John Lutheran Church as well as a member of the Model A's of Greater Orlando since 1994 and an active member of Cruisers for Kids. Carol was a "go-getter' who was very outgoing, compassionate, and willing to help anyone. She and her sister Nancy had horses and competed in many horse shows in Florida and won many awards. They both competes in the 100-mile rides in the Ocala National Forest in past years. Her little dog "Bo" was her pride and joy and best friend. She is survived by her loving husband Tony; her mother and father Vernell and Wallace Erdman Jr.; brothers, Donald and David Erdman; sister, Nancy Taylor and her husband Mark; step-daughter Melissa Martin-Walker and husband Aaron; niece, Stacey Simmons and her husband, Greg; grand nephew, Derian; grand niece, Amelia; niece, Kelley Tyree and husband Tim; nephew Ryan Adkins; and her beloved dog, Mr. Bo. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol to Cruisers for Kids, 615 Rochester St. Oviedo, FL 32765.

A Note From the February Newsletter: Carol was more than just a member of the Model A's of Greater Orlando. Her total commitment to the Club was incalculable.  She served as the Secretary for 5 years, tour director for many years, organized our involvement with the Apopka parade, and performed countless duties behind the scene. She is sorely missed.

A Note From the Webmaster:  My wife and I joined the Club in October of 2004. Though we knew Carol for only a short time, it was long enough to sense her love. She smiled and laughed often, and cared tremendously about her friends and family.

Upon hearing the news of her death, I was shocked and deeply saddened (as were all the club members and her family). I felt I needed to do something for the family but had no idea what. A few days after her memorial service, I said a prayer asking God what I can do. The thought of building a web site in her honor and memory appeared to me and I felt a strong conviction to do so as well as a sense of peace after making the decision. In addition, my wife encouraged me to build a web site. Carol would want this Club to grow and the fun we have together to continue. Building this web site is my contribution to Carol's family and the Club.

She is sorely missed.  The Club is not the same without her.
